Where actual discipleship happens
Sunday is the launchpad.
Groups are the rest of the week.
Most churches grow community through small groups, but the technology supporting them is usually: GroupMe, WhatsApp, a Facebook group, or a personal text thread. That works until the leader leaves and the new leader has no access to the history. Or until a member moves to a different group and loses the threads. Or until a sensitive prayer request ends up screenshotted somewhere.
On TrueConnect+, groups live in the same platform that knows your members. Real-time threads. Direct messages between members. Photo sharing. Group-only prayer walls. Leader moderation tools. Admin oversight where it matters. And when a leader transitions out, the group and its history transfer cleanly.
The organization side
Manage. Moderate. Measure.
Create. Categorize. Make findable.
Create a group with name, description, category (Bible Study, Youth, Worship, Men's, Women's, Community, Service), meeting schedule, and privacy setting (public, request-to-join, invite-only). Tag it to a campus if you're multi-site.
Members find groups through your church's group directory. They request to join (or join instantly for public groups). Leaders approve, and the new member is in the thread.
- Public / request-to-join / invite-only privacy
- Categorized for member discovery
- Multi-campus aware
- Leader-approved join requests
Leaders run the group. Admins see the rollup.
Leaders have moderation powers: remove members, hide messages, pin announcements, schedule meetings. Admins have full visibility — every group's membership, every group's message count, every group's health metric — without having to be inside every group.
When a leader transitions out, ownership transfers cleanly. The new leader inherits the full history. The old leader keeps their member access if they stay in the group.
- Per-group leader moderation tools
- Admin-level rollup across all groups
- Clean leader transition (ownership transfer)
- Health metrics: activity, growth, retention per group
The member side
Find. Join. Engage.
Find a group that fits. In your church. By your interests.
Browse groups by category, schedule, or campus. See who else is in the group (with privacy controls for sensitive groups). Read the description. Tap join — or request to join, depending on the group's privacy setting.
Members can be in as many groups as they want, and across as many churches as they follow on Discover. Your home church's men's breakfast and your former church's online Bible study can both be in the same app.
- Browse by category, schedule, or campus
- Cross-church group membership (via Discover)
- Member-level privacy controls
- Single-tap join for public groups
The text thread, the prayer chain, and the photo album — all in one place.
Real-time group threads with reactions, replies, and photo sharing. Direct messages with the leader or any group member. Group-only prayer requests for sensitive matters. Push notifications when something happens; mute the group during sermon time.
The text-thread spillover that used to live in three different group chats — now in one place. When someone leaves the group, their messages stay (for context); when they leave the church, the data export is clean per the privacy controls.
- Real-time threads with reactions and replies
- Photo + media sharing
- Group-only prayer requests
- Direct messages between members
Built for the rhythm of weekly community.
Real-time threads
Group chat that feels like text messaging. Photos, reactions, replies, mentions. Push notifications by default; mute per group when you need quiet.
Group prayer requests
Prayer requests that stay inside the group. Mark answered. Private to members; not visible to church admins by default.
Meeting schedule
Recurring meeting cadence built into the group profile. Calendar invites for one-off events. Auto reminders before the meeting.
Direct messages
DMs between members or with the leader. The conversation that doesn't belong in the group thread. Same app, different surface.
Roster + admin
Leader sees full roster, moderation history, message activity. Admin sees the rollup across every group in the church.
Cross-church groups
Members can be in groups across multiple churches they follow on Discover. The vacation-church group stays alive even when they're back home.
