Service Types are the foundation of service planning in TrueConnect+. Each one represents a recurring kind of service (Sunday AM, Wednesday Night, First-Friday Outreach) and includes a recurrence rule that tells the system how often to generate upcoming dates.
How recurrence rules work
Recurrence rules use the iCalendar RRULE format. Common patterns:
- Weekly on Sunday: FREQ=WEEKLY;BYDAY=SU
- Bi-weekly on Sunday: FREQ=WEEKLY;INTERVAL=2;BYDAY=SU
- First Sunday of each month: FREQ=MONTHLY;BYSETPOS=1;BYDAY=SU
Once saved, the system generates upcoming dates per the rule. You can plan any specific date by clicking into it.
When you create your first one
We'll auto-create three starter volunteer teams (Worship Band, Tech, Hospitality) with sensible default roles. Edit them anytime from Plan → Teams & Roles.
